I've loved to read since I could remember. I used to devour tomes at a time and I still do, once in (very short) while. But nowadays, the material I read has become less dense. It started out with novels and progressed to news articles. Then it went to blogs and has digressed to Twitter. 140 characters max- oh dear.

Oh how I miss the days when I had no responsibilities.

Installed 4 gigs of RAM each in my iMac and my MacBookPro. They're both blazing fast now..... sweetness! :)
Credit card damage was really bad this month so must be frugal for the next few months. :/

My coworkers and I are doing a "friendly competition" to see who can lose the most weight percentage-wise. I plan on winning! It started off as a small group of 4 but now we've dragged a lot of the department in- 11 people total with 2 people who are participating without revealing their weight. It's been one week and I've cheated about 3 times... lol. But I'll be good next week for sure! I've eaten healthier and went to the gym more than normal. A few people already said they see results but I don't feel different.

With that in mind, I'm off to the gym. Ta-ta! :)

Technology is amazing. I hail to science.

I got laser eye surgery yesterday and I'm so happy. I'm freed from glasses and contacts (at least for the next few decades!). I can't believe I finally bit the bullet and did it... but its done and it was successful.

Thank you, science!

The weekend consisted of 2 things:

1) Obsessively watching tennis, especially Roger Federer's matches
2) Trying not to get heatstroke for the 3rd summer in a row. UGH, ITS SO HOT!

I did my 2nd day of civic duty aka jury duty today. It's interesting seeing the justice system in action... I guess I'm glad I was selected. It's more interesting than going to work anyway. :D I went to Horton Plaza (mall) during lunch and shopped. Didn't find anything worth buying for myself (even though Nordy's was having a ginormous sale!) but I picked up a belated birthday present for Josh at the Discovery Channel store. I suck at buying bday presents... but I think he'll like this- it's meaningful.

To get to the Hall of Justice/courthouse downtown, I had to take public transportation because parking would be more expensive. It was a peaceful ride on the trolley yesterday but it was a crush of Comic Con fanatics today. It was craaazy! I'll watch all the hubbub on the news tonight. I'm so tired today from walking around downtown.

Random thought but I think that they casted the Harry Potter characters really well. Hermione grew up to be very adorable! (this isn't a really random thought because I was flipping through a Us Weekly magazine and saw her dressed up in Chanel for the Harry Potter premiere- very stylish!) They don't seem to be wild childs- I like how they're all modest, as far as the media portrays them. And they don't mess around with drugs like a certain child star who made the news today...

Subject:Really tired and bored
Security:Public

This weekend was really REALLY chill... I thought it would be nice to have a weekend of doing nothing, especially after the past 3 weeks of going out and being busy and tired. But. I'm. Bored. To. Death. This. Weekend.

Well, to be fair I was only REALLY bored today. I was busy reading the last Harry Potter book (along with the rest of the world) and finished in 8 hours. After I was done, I had absolutely nothing to do besides mope around. Roomies were gone, didn't want to call anybody up (my own fault) so I puttered around the house, cleaned a bit, watched TV and became bored.

So next weekend, I already have something planned... Vegas! A bunch of badminton people are getting together for Jessie's last few weeks here on the west coast before heading to Texas for optometry school. I love partyin' with the badminton crew... fun (and non-boring) times ahead! :) I have a feeling its going to be really tiring since we're driving... and seeing that I have a ginormous car (by college student standards), I guess we'll be taking my car. I hardly trust anybody to drive my car so I've already designated Steph as the only other driver of my car.

Time to get bored again.

It's been about half a year since my last update. Where does all my free time go? I feel like I'm busy all the time... work, errands, cleaning the house, trying to be productive all the time, trying to find downtime to relax, watch movies/TV and read books.

Nothing much to say lately. Oh wait- something happened about 2 months ago worth noting. My car got hit by another flying car so I was stuck without Boo for awhile. :*( The short story was that a Ford Explorer hydroplaned into a concrete curb (boulevard, about 50-60 mph), tipped over, rolled up a tree, shot up in the air (momentum) and crashed into my car. It took less than 10 seconds and cost $10,000 in repairs to my 1 year, 2 week old car. *sniffle* I'm just glad that the other guy was okay. He only two scratches on his arm, probably whiplash and shot nerves. But anyhow, I got my car back and I've learned to appreciate it a lot more. I <3 Boo. Dealing with insurance crap is not fun though. Blah.

I've found time in the past week to reread a few books. Bridge Jones Diary (first book), Bridget Jones Diary: The Edge of Reason (second book) and Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. They're all really good and sucked me into. Like the rest of the world, I'm dying to find out what happens in the 7th HP book. The 5th HP movie looks pretty good too... although I'm not dying to find out what happens next because- duh, I've read the book about 10 times (and about to read it for the 11th). Modern day graphics will make the book come alive though. The 3 little actors are so adorable! Oh, and the Bridget Jones Diaries.... soooo good! I kept laughing out loud SO LOUD people thought I was going crazy. Just thinking about it makes me laugh. ^_^

Another update, another day... hopefully in less than 6 months. :P

Subject:Yay for HDTV!

Hello, 52 inch high definition HD TV!

My roommies and I went all around town to search high and low for a good deal on a big screen TV. We finally settled on the Panasonic 52 inch LCD rear projection TV. The benefits of living with two guys, especially once who's a computer/electronics geek, is that they did all the research and they have muscle. When we finally decided on one, they did all the hauling and set up. :D We rearranged our entire living room and our 5.1 speaker system so that we can see and hear our shows and movies in perfect harmony. I love it!

The first thing we watched was "Superman Returns", my favorite movie of this year. (I'm a super duper Superman fanatic.) It was like being in a real movie theatre except more comfy on our fluffy couch. Not only can we watch TV shows and movies in HD, Dave has a Nintendo Wii so we can play video games. Life is good.

Gotta show my butt at work at 7 am so I can pay for this TV now... so time for me to say peace out.

Subject:Loser on Halloween
Security:Public

So apparently I'm a loser. While everybody was partying it up on Halloween, I stayed at home with my roommates to pass out candy. Around 8 pm, I was tired so I took a nap. I should say "nap" because the next thing I know, it was 7:30 am in the morning, the sunlight was streaming through my window and the word "FUCK" was swimming through my head. I was out the door in 8 minutes flat and that includes a REALLY quick shower, dressing, makeup and grabbing breakfast from the fridge. I was an hour and 15 minutes late to work (had to fight through traffic) but I don't think they care too much. I can't believe I slept 11.5 hours straight through. It felt sooo good, though.

"Women who slept for 5 hours or less a night were 32% more likely to gain weight than those who slumbered a full 7 hours." -MSN Health Article

If you note the timestamp of this entry, it's a little before 5:45 am and I'm at work. I'm extremely tired- I went to sleep at 11:45 pm and at 2 am, I started waking up every hour because I was paranoid I was going to wake up late. I woke up at 4:55 am and got to work at 5:30- so I pretty much got less than 4 hours of sleep and I'm tired as hell. I want to go to home and sleep... which I can at 1:30 pm. Having this shift to have a free afternoon is useless because I just end up going home and sleeping for 4 more hours. I guess that would help because it would bring my total number hours of sleep time to 8 hours. I'm like a zombie right now. :(

On a happy note, I got a really cute bag yesterday. I got this one in brown suede with pink stitching. For some reason, I can't find my specific bag on the Coach website but oh well, just imagine a really, really, really cute bag. :D Thanks Steph, for coming with me and lending me moral support in my big bag purchase! :P

I guess I should work now. :(

Gotta hardcore it through the last few hours. Current time is 2:21 am and my final is from 8-11 am. This final is the last final I ever have to take for the rest of my life (for my bachelors degree). I'm excited for 11:01 am.

Subject:Heading to LA
Security:Public

Spring break wasn't productive in terms of resume updating, job hunting or working out (I didn't exercise a single time). I also feel guilty and spoiled cuz of my massive consumerism this vacation. :**( I promise to be better!

I'll be driving the 300 miles to LA to my sister's place tomorrow (at less than 75 mph cuz I have to break the engine in!! #$%&!!). Hopefully I'll arrive by 5 pm like she requested so we can go to Verizon and get our new pink RAZR phones activated (I bought two phones, one for me and one for my sister). I bet my sister's excited because her current phone bites big time. Her reception sucked, even before her phone's antennae broke. I guess T-Mobile isn't good in her area so she's switching to Verizon.

I think I need to get some sort of Bluetooth headseat for my RAZR because it doesn't come with a normal earphone jack. Blah, more money spent, but it's sort of necessary. I don't want to hold my phone while I'm driving and my mom always insists on wearing one while I'm on the road. I don't want to be one of those dangerous and stupid drivers who talk on the phone, anyway. I tried to go to Circuit City to get the earphone but the Verizon kiosk doesn't accept gift cards so I bought a car adapter (for my iPod) and noise cancelling earphone (better for my ears) instead. I've been meaning to get those things for awhile now so no consumeristic guilt there.

Ugh, long road ahead tomorrow at slow speeds. Boring! It'll be made a whole lot more bearable with my spankin' new car though. Early morning for me so sleep time!

Soooooo in an attempt to amuse myself while I'm writing my essay (I'm sure you all know how that goes), I'm writing in my LJ.

Is it really sad that I hurt my back while writing my essay? There's this little area on the small of my back that really hurts. I think it's from the muscle being in an uncomfortable position for so long.

If I change my font to Arial, then all I need to write is 1.75 more pages of my essay. Tempting, but I think my teacher knows all the tricks in the book. And I've been turning in all my work this quarter with Times New Roman so I don't think it'll fly. But it's all about quality, not quantity anyway.

My bed is in front of my desk so it's really tempting me right now. I'm tired. I slept at 5:30 and woke up at 2. This is probably one of the longest essays I've ever written in my life. 15 pages doesn't seem like that long until you're writing it and run out of ideas.

I wish I was on the road home to NorCal already.

Oh, Maggie and I decided we'll be waking up at 6 am everyday next quarter to go running. We'll see how long that lasts. My goal is to sleep by 11 pm every night. Will it last? Probably not. But it's the thought that counts.

I want the pink Verizon RAZR phone. Susan has convinced me to get it!!
